ODU Student facing a minimum of more than 30 years in prison pleads not guilty to 6 felonies including aggravated malicious wounding and malicious wounding.
The defense demanded a jury trial because the prosecution only offered the student could accept a plea agreement to plead guilty and accept a minimum of 9 years in a penitentiary.
In an attempt to persuade the jury in favor of a guilty verdict, the prosecution brought forward witnesses and experts and presented an unfair and elaborated "Law & Order" version of the facts.
Defense attorney, Richard Davis, was able to convince the jury to return a verdict of not guilty on two charges, and reducing all the rest, recommend a sentence of 6 months in the Norfolk Jail.
